Fanny Pack for CC

After reviewing the various forums, I was still unsure where to post this thread. That is why it is here.

Assuming some of the members use a fanny pack for concealed carry, what are some suggestions for brands and where to purchase? I have done some Google searches but have not come up with something I like yet.

Thanks,
LS

Fanny packs are big, bulky and known concealment methods by crooks. Not the recommended concealment method. I would suggest you look for a better option.

Fanny packs are such obvious cc devices, I don't think they have much value any more.
I'm using a tactical messenger bag myself. Lots of storage, large cc pouch, very comfortable and in style these days.

Cheaper Than Dirt has them for $29..95.

'cause they don't make a .46.

My wife and I (or many times just me) walk our dogs around a wooded path around a local park at 5:30 to 6:00 AM everyday---I carry in a fanny pack there.....

I figure if the two German Shephards; the NRA cap, and the fanny pack doesn't warn the bad guy off ---he deserves whats about to happen to him....

I use a Kabar TDI fanny pack on rare occasions. Yeah they kinda signal CC but that's not always a bad thing. Got mine for riding my motorcycle but didn't really work out as well as I had hoped (kinda rested on the tank) so now it is for my afernoon exercise (walk 3 miles daily 'cause I'm too old and worn out to run).

I just started using one of these and I am very happy with it. It is not my every day carry but when I have no pockets it's my go to carry method.

Fanny packs are a great way to CC. The biggest advantage is your CC wont be seen by and anti and become the subject of a MWG call. My CHP instructor had been on many such calls on valid CHP holders, and they must react to them as if the CHP holder is a BG. They are a great carry option. Here are a few choices.

Here's the Galco Escort, very fast opening. I have this one, I dont particularly care for how close to horizontal the gun is holstered. My P230 fits well, but my P239 is a little big for the smaller Escort.

Here's another one.

I like the holster angle of this one. If I were to get one, it would probably be this one.

I think the traditional, black "fanny" packs worn as a general, everyday method of cary is a bad idea.

That said, I have a Camelbak pack, which I wear to my strong side, while cycling on bike trails with my family. A quick tug and the velcro gives way for access to my XD. It also has a hydration bladder with a hose, a large Camelbak logo, and it's blue nylon color makes it right at home in a hiking/biking environment. That's the only place I wear it, but it makes it much more comfortable to ride, and again it's EZ access to my weapon if I need to utilize it.

I think if on horseback or on a motorcycle I'd use the Camelbak as well.

Everywhere else my XD rides in a CrossBreed SuperTuck Deluxe.
