Fiber optic sights

Newb here. So, I did a quick search for fiber optic sights and it was kind of all over the place. I really didn't see a defenitive pattern. XS big dot, Tru Glo, and Trijicon seemed to top the list tho, but no clear winner.

Any recommendations on the Williams Fire Sights? I intend to carry my 9 sc, and use a light in the house, so I'm not convinced NS are mandatory. I just want something to help me focus a little easier/better.

Give me your thoughts please! Do I need a front only? Front and rear? Thanks in advance!

I don't care for fiber on handguns. Break too easily. Just use tritium...works plenty well.

I'm kind of sight ignorant. There was a guy at the LGS that had the Tru-Glo fiber on his G19. Man, those sights really pop when you bring the gun up! Do the Trijicon's do the same? I figured since they were primarily night sights, that they wouldn't do anything special in any other lighting condition than dark. No?

For straight fiber, without tritium, the Dawson Precision ones work great. Very tight groupings are possible when your front sight doesn't obscure what you're aiming at.

I have the Heine Straight 8 night sites on my XD45c. The wife has the XS Big Dot on her XD9sc. I really like the Heine and so does a lot of folks here. I didn't go with Truglo as I've read a bunch of complaints of the front fiber popping out. Plus I prefer the quick target acquisition of the Heine or XS Dot than a normal 3-dot site.

Thanks guys! I do remember reading where a fellow member was on his second or third set of Tru-Glo's. I'll ask around if anyone local has the XS, but I doubt it. I'll look at the Dawson Precision too.

I guess I am a little confused about what you are looking for. Most fiber optic sights are not night sights and most night sights are not fiber optic. The TFOs are both but most aren't. I didn't want you to be confused about the two. If I mis-understood I apologize.

I have Trijicon sights on my XD40 (yellow rear, green front) and I like them a lot. For low light situations they are easy to pick up. On my M&P Pro I have a set of Novak sights. The rear is plain black and the front is red fiber optic. I shoot it in IDPA and the sights are very quick and easy. All I have to do is focus on the front sight and shoot the red dot.

Cat,

No worries, I do understand the diff between the two, I just knew the TFO's were both. Thanks tho. Your setup sounds real good for that type of shooting, but for a little range, a little home, and mostly carry, I think front and rear would probably be more comfy than just the front. Could be wrong tho, just my thoughts.
