leftists are pro-HUGE govt and all about control. citizens with guns represent the ultimate challenge for them. they may not come out openly and say this, but with the indoctrination they have accepted, it's natural to want to take away any taste of freedom and any ability for a citizen to "rise up". The 2nd amendment was designed to keep the govt. in check via the citizens.

This morning on the radio, Laura Ingraham made a great point.... when it comes to abortion, sodomy, etc. being ruled as constitutional, the left is perfectly fine with it...when it comes to the 2nd amendment and guns in home, they don't feel it applies to them.

they do a good job trying to crush the first amendment which is a threat to them and govt, but the 2nd is the ultimate threat to them and as long as citizens are armed and view the constitution as law, the left will do anything and everything to try and minimize/eliminate the threat.

This is how it starts. 12 a year. Then a few years down the road you'll hear 1 person can't possibly need more than 6 handguns a year...ect ect. The problem is that gun owners are the minority here and people don't understand that by allowing things like this opens the door for much worse. And they keep voting in tax and spend libs who practice base line budgeting and throw gobs of taxpayer money at toilets like Camden year after year. Sigh, one day maybe I can tranfer outta here.

ah yes, "baseline budgeting", aka social levelling..

ya know, as an unabashed Sodomite myself (or Gomorrhite i guess in my case, lol), i don't feel i need the government to protect my right to get it on with whatever consenting adult i so choose, but i *also* don't feel a private business owner should be forced to hire my dyke ass if said ass offends his/her moral sensibilites.. i file the whole matter under "do as thou wilt provided it impingeth not upon the Liberty of others".. but that wasn't my idea, it was Madison's, i just kinda latched onto it.. makes alotta sense..

Isn't it a significant wait to buy a handgun already in New Jersey since you have to apply for the specific make and model when you do apply?

My uncle says it can take up to 6 months to get a gun legally or he can just go to Trenton and buy one off the street.

You don't have to apply for make/model. Just a permit to purchase a pistol . By NJ law its not supposed to take more than 30 days. But every single person I know has gotten the runaround for months. Once you get a permit it expires in 90 days but you can walk into the gun store and back out with the pistol of your choice in 20 minutes.

and this solves what... the counter to this " I need to buy 24 a year, so 12 isn't enough." I could not afford 12/yr., but I NEED to buy 2-3 in the same month (after I get taxes back) I should be able to do that!!
