Judge Cites 'Alarm' as Legally Owned Handguns Proliferate in Ireland

A High Court judge has said reasonable people are "entitled to feel alarmed" about the large increase in the number of pistols licensed for private use. There was "a pressing need" for drawing together into a clear law the multiple "piecemeal" rules on the control of firearms, Mr Justice Peter Charleton urged. that's like saying that people should be alarmed about DC having (supposedly) legal handguns now, yet citing that the ban hasn't reduced (and has markedly increased at various times during its tenure as law) violent crimes.


you're negating your own argument, on the basis of 'the entitlement to be alarmed' about something that (according to what he just stated) is apparently not a cause to be alarmed about.
