Police have, with immediate effect, increased charges for obtaining firearms and clearance certificates. Police spokesperson Superintendent Andrew Phiri yesterday said the increases were with effect from today. not really impossible considering

"A pint of milk can cost 3 billion Zimbabwe dollars, or about 30 U.S. cents"

from this article:
German company ends sale of bank note paper to Mugabe regime in inflation-ravaged Zimbabwe

so a firearms certificate costs about $5.00 U.S.

and an import license cost about $25 U.S.

that's a bargain!

btw the zimbabweans are so screwed. that mugabe is an idiot.

That's kinda like how the DC Gun ban worked. You need to obtain a license for each firearm, but the government won't issue any licenses.

as of February of 08 the zimbabwe dollar was trading at 7.1 Million to 1 US Dollar and inflation rates were at 100,000%
So basically every day your money loses 287% of it's value.
Frankly I'm surprised that there is anything or anyone left in Zimbabwe.

So, check my math here, if the license for a firearm costs 50 billion then it costs approx. $7042.25 USD

Renewal on the other hand, $35211.27 !!!!!

Edit: That math was based on the above estimate of 7.1M ZWD to 1 USD.
