This is just a taste of whats happening all over the US with Illegals. Only reason why you heard about this is because an American took matters into his own hands. Otherwise this story would not have even made it past local news if he hadn't shot them. |

I've been thinking and digging into this story today. Couple of things that piss me off.
One: why didn't the detective do more when he saw it going down? (I don't buy into plain clothes I don't want to get shot BS.) I'm not cheering for the BG's but come on. I don't see how this should have gone to a GJ if he the COP was such a great witness to it all. Two: Illegals commiting crimes are destroying this country WTF!!! I though a 12 Ga would deter just about anyone from being stupid. Guess not and they paid for it in the end. Don't bring a crow bar to a gun fight even if it's 2x1 odds.

say what you will about the incident of this case.
I'll make the following statements, which I don't think anyone can deny. If more criminals were shot in the back, we would have less criminals. These men already made the decision to violate the sanctity and safety of another man's home. Once you cross that threshold, you deserve whatever punishment your maker decides to mete out, coming from whomever it happens to come from. And finally, I doubt the family of the burglars in question would feel any less grief, remorse, or antipathy toward the shooter had their loved ones been shot in the front.

Kinda off subject here, but being a Texan and living here in the great state of Texas...
Are we not allowed to defend both ourselves/our property AND others, be it neighbors or the guy down the street? I thought we were allowed to do so in Texas regardless of who owned the property...if we see a crime taking place we can act to stop it. I am not talking about simply gunning someone down for jaywalking etc etc...can anyone shine some light on the subject RE Texas law? |

Joe Horn was well within the law for what he did. I'm pretty sure the world is a better place without those two criminals... \\ACB

Bakestein, Take a look at the Texas Penal Code, it lists when you can legally use lethal force to stop a crime. PENAL CODE CHAPTER 9. JUSTIFICATION EXCLUDING CRIMINAL RESPONSIBILITY Sections 9.41 and 9.42 cover using deadly force to protect property. If someone is being robbed, I think it falls under protecting a person and not property. hth \\ACB
