FBI Chief Says High Court Gun Ruling Makes US Campuses Less Secure

HARTFORD, Connecticut -- FBI Director Robert Mueller on Monday criticized the U.S. Supreme Court's recent ruling that Americans have a right to own guns for self-defense and hunting, saying it may harm efforts to deter violent crime. Speaking at a convention of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators in Hartford, Mueller said the ruling "does throw a lot of things... Robert Mueller might want to take a look at his own Department's stats. In there, he will find a VERY glaring statistic the will direct him to the source of most gun violence. I can tell you that it isn't on campuses.

I cannot believe the guy is so worried about campuses.

I'm kinda lost for words! If Mueller said what the article reports he says, he should step down as director of the FBI.

Because the Supreme Court has up held our right to keep and bear arms, small towns and college campuses are going to become incubators for terrorists??????????

Mueller said communities will have to determine their own license programs. As a former Marine who served in Vietnam, he said "I tend to believe weapons harm people and more often than not they harm the people carrying them." Then please, please, please disarm your agents before any more are injured!!!!!!!!!!!! And also work to disarm our local police! Their jobs are tough enough without the added danger of, CARRYING GUNS!!!

If he has such a distrust of the American people, he needs to retire!!!!

GOOD GRIEF!!!!!!!!!!!

"I tend to believe weapons harm people and more often than not they harm the people carrying them."

How does anyone else interpret this? It could be that the people carrying are committing suicide, but I find that unlikely. Unless it's a Glock , I can't imagine too many guns are blowing up in their hands. ...Maybe they keep shooting themselves in the foot, but then again the holsters usually cover the trigger-guard. Sure one could consider PTSD as an effect of having to shoot, but scant few who carry ever do actually have to shoot and kill someone.

I really don't know what the hell he was trying to say here.
