Gun Control in Most Countries More Stringent than in America

Few countries go as far as the District of Columbia government did in effectively banning handgun ownership, but gun control abroad tends to be far stricter and more intrusive than in the United States. In Britain, it is a crime to manufacture or import even realistic-looking imitation guns, while in Canada, handguns must be registered and potential buyers must undergo training, a personal-risk... So... What was the point of this article suppose to be?

Should we care how Britian runs their country? Wasn't there a reason we split off from the English?

And yay Sweden!

Do we want to be Great Britain, or do we want to be America?

I doubt GB would have a problem importing more anti-gunners, why can't they all just move there and live there lives in peace?

Good for them!
I wonder why, historically, we've had to save their butts then?

"while in Canada, handguns must be registered and potential buyers must undergo training, a personal-risk assessment and a criminal background check; supply two references; and have their spouses notified before purchase."
Frankly, as a law abiding citizen of both Canada and the USA, I have no problem with that; Canada's murder rate by firearm has fallen substantially since these and other laws were introduced since the late 1970s (Canadians have more firearms per capita than Americans, but they are mostly sporting weapons including rifles and shotguns; for 1989-95, the average handgun homicide rate was 4.8 per 100,000 in the U.S., compared to 0.3 per 100,000 for Canada. Handguns were involved in more than half of the homicides in the U.S., compared to 14% in Canada.).
(Zebra3 now ducks!)

They fail to mention that little amendment that was just reaffirmed as an individual right in our Constitution. I don't believe that countries like GB have anything like that built in to theirs. Just spitballin here...
