Louisiana Sheriff Says 'Fanatic' Gun Collector Caught by Own 'Perversion'

Sheriff's Office deputies seized $150,000 in guns from a Slidell area gun collector whose "perversion" with weapons led to picture taking of his 1-year-old son, in diapers, clutching an AK-47 machine gun, Sheriff Jack Strain said Thursday. Fai Yui "Frank" Kwan, 42, 101 Foxcraft Drive, was arrested and charged with several felonies, including two counts of contributing to the delinquency of... The story is a little odd. The guy reports stolen guns so police search his home? "Later" they get a warrant and find more stuff? I think the gov't has some issues here.

This guy should have followed standard advice: never talk to the police. Never invite the police into your home. (I'll note that I break these rules all the time -- cops are almost always welcome in my home but that's just me )

If he had to report the stolen guns, he should have done so at the police station, in person.

This guy gives the rest of us a bad image.

And seriously, he has half a million rounds of ammunition (according to the story) but couldn't pay his electric bill? Sounds like he has some issues.

Ridiculous comments:

“What’s the most scary is when the parents aren’t there (the children) feel comfortable with them, and one day they shoot each other,” Juge said.

"has no military background and was largely unknown to neighbors except for a few"

“It’s really scary to know that he had enough guns in there to start a war.”

“I never took him to be the Rambo-type.”

“If this guy had criminal intent he could have held off police forces for a long time,” Strain said, adding later, “He could make a target of one of my deputies from a mile and half away.”

What do you think the deal with the prescription drug charge was for?

Does that make his other charges worse? Now they can say he is a drug trafficker and gun owner?

including a 1919 World War II-era belt-fed machine gun with 2,000 rounds worth $5 a piece, Juge said.
Ma Deuce or the M1919(.30-06)? At $5 a round it must be the .50 cal.

This guy's collection sounds pretty epic, unfortunately it looks as though he is more than a little unstable and may have come by many pieces of the collection illegally... Definitely gives the rest of us a bad name.

If they need a place to store the AR-50, the Ma Deuce and all the ammo, I have plenty of room!

No, no, no! It is only a scary "assault rifle" when it is in the super-deadly semi-automatic configuration....

and I am sure someone with no sniper training (presumably) can pick off officers at a mile and a half no problem. Those evil .50 cal rifles remove any and all skill requirements from the equation.

Why? What did he do wrong?

I think people who attempt to impress and be liked by gun haters give us a bad image.
