It's troubling the local DC government seems to hold the ultimate laws with little regard, as if these laws were merely 'inconveniences' to them & their 'rule'.
It's a sad day when DC residents will have to find alternate means of defending themselves: ![]()

But this ruling does not keep the communists from making handgun permits almost impossible to obtain. Just like NYC, people CAN have a handgun, but they have to go through hell to get it. This is what DC will do. they will just restrict and make the process unbearable.

Well the restrictions on machine guns have not been lifted. There was another law that was passed that bans machine guns.
Their qualification of "machine guns" are: "machine guns," which under DC law includes any gun "which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily converted or restored to shoot semiautomatically, more than 12 shots without manual reloading." So no semi-autos...which kinda sucks...here is the quoting from a news article. District's ban on "machine guns," which under DC law includes any gun "which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily converted or restored to shoot semiautomatically, more than 12 shots without manual reloading." This definition includes virtually all semiautomatic handguns. As a result, the District's ban can remain in force for those types of handguns. In essence, the Court's ruling for the most part will only affect revolvers and derringers. We'll see if they abolish that law. I can see some more fighting over that.

remember they can't pass "state" laws since they are federal territory. I'm sure they will try to pass really strict laws that will be struck down. It may seem like a step back, but it could ultimately prove quite useful. The more clear definitions are laid out in DC will make it that much more difficult for cities and states to tighten things down like they are now.
