US Supreme Court Ensures Even More Americans Will Die by Gunshot

Thirty-thousand Americans are killed by guns every year -- on the job, walking to school, at the shopping mall. The Supreme Court on Thursday all but ensured that even more Americans will die senselessly with its wrongheaded and dangerous ruling striking down key parts of the District of Columbia's gun-control law. In a radical break from 70 years of Supreme Court precedent, Justice Antonin... [New York Times, Editorial, via gunpolicy.org ]

Here's what cracks me up. In reality, this ruling means nothing to most Americans. Not one thing changes for me.

My state has already protected my right to keep and bear, anyone (law abiding non-insane anyway) can keep a fully loaded gun in their vehicle, I don't have to retreat from a criminal, I can own just about anything I want (if I can afford it anyway) I can conceal carry just about anywhere (+28 some odd other states).

So these leftists tell us the world as we know it will end. I used to think that most of these chicken littles knew what they were doing, but now I'm starting to think they are just plain stupid.

This battle is not over, it has only just begun!

They forget to mention the fact that since the D.C. gun ban went into effect, D.C. has become one of the most dangerous cities in the country.

The editorial staff of the New York Times needs to be drug tested.

They also need to read that this ruling was only for firearms in the home, nothing more, nothing less.

Here's my favorite line so far, yes it's at the end, but I was looking for a contact the editor or a comments section:

Prepare to spit whatever liquid it is you're drinking all over your computer or have it gush from your nostrils:

Quote:
Senator John McCain has said he would appoint justices like Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito — both of whom supported this decision. If the court is allowed to tip even further to the far right, there will be even more damage done to the rights and the safety of Americans.

what do you expect from NY, another gun ban state. Those gun ban state govts brainwashed you into thinking you dont need a gun for self defense. The only thing thats going to change is DC, Chicago, Cali, NY are just going to be like the other 40 states that already let you own a gun and CHL

Notice how the whole thing is an opinion and there are very little facts involved. Must be a dem author.

Whoever wrote this garbage should lose his/her job; not because I disagree with his/her views, but the content is so factually incorrect and bastardized, it's unbelievable. I'm just shaking my head when I read this. Rights aren't absolute, rights aren't guaranteed, the right to bear arms is "clearly" linked to military service, etc. etc. etc.

The author is truly clueless and a bumbling idiot. Where do papers like the NY Times find these morons?

The few facts that are attempted to be used aren't even correct.
