Sure. It's often been said that gun control is more about the control than the guns.

The author is truly clueless and a bumbling idiot. Where do papers like the NY Times find these morons?
I have to agree with you. The New York Times is continually upside down and contrarian in almost all of its arguments.

... was right when he said that the court has now established “a new constitutional right” that creates a “dramatic upheaval in the law.”
Yeah, the Supreme Court has never done that. There's NOWHERE in their illustrious judicial history that they invented rights out of thin air and then arbitrarily tagged them onto some part of the Constitution

I don't feel so bad. Only people that actaully register on their website can post/ recomend comments. Obviously, that's their frequent readers that buy into their bs.

"In a radical break from 70 years of Supreme Court precedent, Justice Antonin Scalia, writing for the majority, declared that the Second Amendment guarantees individuals the right to bear arms for nonmilitary uses, even though the amendment clearly links the right to service in a “militia.”

Riiiiiiiiiight, that's all our Founders intended it to mean. Let's just forget all about the word "people" they included in the 2A.

The Supreme Court found that Abortion is an extension of the right to privacy.

More fundamental to the idea that the Supreme Court has created rights is the fact that the Right to Privacy does not appear anywhere in the Constitution yet the Supreme Court has read that right as having been so fundamental that it didn;t even need to be mentioned.

On the other hand, the right to keep and bear arms was specifically written in, yet these people choose to find some twisted interpretation of the text that suits their needs.

Amazing.

Just like people's feelings toward police, people hate the Supreme Court when it suits them to do so.

One of the comments from that article:

Repeal the second amendment.— Bill L, NYC

I almost wish this guy ends up on the bad side of a robbery. I'm going to look tomorrow and try to find stats on how much of a decrease in crime happened when any given state implemented CC.
