US Army's $300m Ammo Deal 'Case Study' in Botched Military Contracting
WASHINGTON -- When the Army last year awarded a contract worth up to nearly $300 million to a tiny Miami Beach munitions dealer to supply ammunition to Afghanistan's security forces, it overlooked a very checkered past. A Congressional committee revealed Tuesday that by the time the Army awarded the bid, State and Defense Department officials had canceled or delayed at least six earlier contracts... military contracting overall is pretty stupid, mainly the non competitive ones. Thats why the military is charged $60 per round of .50 BMG when I can go online and find it for $3-4 a round.
 Our taxes being efficiently spent. Its pretty sickening how much stuff the military just wastes
