So then... how does this author reconcile the fact that the early gun control laws in defeated Confederate states insisted on prohibiting arms to black people?
While it may be (though I'm not yet convinced that it is) true that gun ownership was for the purposes of quelling slave upheaval, it is also true that gun control was used as mechanism for THE SAME DAMNED THING!
