New Zealand Police Choose US-made Assault Rifles as Weapon of Choice
Combat rifles are the weapons of choice for police dealing with situations involving firearms. Police say Bushmaster rifles, already used by armed offenders squad members, have greater accuracy than the Glock pistols now used. Acting Assistant Commissioner Gavin Jones said the Glock pistol would still be carried, but the Bushmaster would be the preferred weapon for armed incidents. [New Zealand Herald, via gunpolicy.org ]
