Chicago Students Petition for Tougher Gun Laws, Assault Weapon Ban
CHICAGO -- More students are speaking out against gun violence in their neighborhoods. They met Sunday to show Illinois lawmakers and the governor that they want tougher gun laws. CBS 2's Pamela Jones reports that the high school students have collected more than 1,000 petition signatures. Each stood with their own story of gun violence. "It hurts me to see the youth,... Chances are u dont graduate high school, turn 21 ,and decide to buy a gun and shoot your neighbor. Statistics show that u prolly started your criminal behavior pre teen...and we all no that u cant buy a gun legally with any criminal activity on your background check...even the smallest misdemeanors can prevent a gun sale (in Ohio any way)...so that tells me that these criminals are not buying these guns legally...so how can u prevent guns from getting into the wrong hands without preventing law bidding citizens from carrying firearms

You can't....But we all know that the 70,000 gun laws on the books keep america safe..and that we were safer when the assult weapons ban was in place!
Someday I will understand how having 4 more rounds in your gun makes it so much more safe? I don't know about you, but anyone who shoots competition can do a clip change is 1-1.5 sec....or less! how does that matter? The NIU shooter did 5 reloads. sure didn't seem to stop him. But hey, we all know that the truth, and we should bad guns...cause criminals would magicly respect that law.

what do most high school kids know about guns, most arent even old enough to purchase one. Obviously Chicago's laws are working due to their very low violence rate. Oh wait
