Hidden Handguns Now Allowed in Georgia Eateries, Parks, Public Transport
Georgians with carry licenses can tote their concealed guns on public transportation, in restaurants that serve alcohol and in state parks under legislation signed by Gov. Sonny Perdue Wednesday. Perdue inked the controversial gun bill on the final day for him to sign or veto legislation. He also signed a $21 billion state budget that will give 200,000 teachers and state employees 2.5 percent... [Atlanta Journal-Constitution (Georgia), via gunpolicy.org ]

Even Better...
What's more, the law passed made some changes to the way companies (private and public) can search employees vehicles, and the way that they can outlaw carrying a firearm in a private vehicle on company property. This is a great advance for private property rights. My company has a "we can search your car for any reason we want" policy, as well as an "any item that might be construed as threatening is a weapon" policy. These policies are now illegal, and I can't be fired for legally carrying/storing a firearm in my car on their property.
A great day for law-abiding citizens! Woo-Hoo! |
