"The National Park Service said there were 116,588 reported offenses in national parks in 2006, the most recent year for which data are available, including 11 killings, 35 rapes or attempted rapes, 61 robberies, 16 kidnappings and 261 aggravated assaults."
Yep, sounds like disarming the public is working! Of course the victims and their families of the 11 killed, 35 raped or attempted rape, 61 robberies, 16 kidnapped and 261 assaulted, may have a different opinion. Keep in mind also these were the "reported" crimes. No telling how many went unreported.

Around these neck of the woods in
the National Park system, one had well best be armed to protect them- selves. The illegal loggers and marijane growers have just about taken over. The rangers are too chicken or they are on the take to not do any thing about it. Wonder what lobby group has paid the former Parks Commissioners to speak against firearm possession? Ed |
