It's Obama Over Clinton for Pennsylvania Gun Owners - US Shooters' Group

Gun owners in Pennsylvania, which has the highest per capita National Rifle Association membership in the nation, could provide Sen. Barack Obama with a key inroad to rural white voters who have so far backed Sen. Hillary Clinton, according to gun advocates. "The gun vote matters," says Ray Schoenke, founding president of the American Hunters and Shooters Association. And in Pennsylvania,... The only reason they will, is b/c the rebublicans will break the bank. McCain, will not help the middle and lower class. Dont like the democrats either. Could spend a lot of time on this, but I wont. But until a honest politician comes along that is really about the American people, we are all fuc**. Who would have thought the 2nd amend. would have been up for debate. Not the ones who wrote for sure!!

My 2 cents

How do you figure?

While the Democrats like to say that the Bush tax cuts only helped the "rich", they actually lowered taxes for everyone in every tax bracket. Both Democrats will let the tax cuts expire which means a "tax increase" for everyone.

On top of that, we've got socialized medicine from both the Democrat candidates... To the tune of $200 BILLION or so. How are we going to pay for that? By raising taxes another 5-10%, of course!

While McCain is not my favorite option, how in the world do you figure he won't do anything for the lower and middle class? Also... How do you actually define "middle class" anyway?

I want a dollar amount. What income range is the "middle class"? All the Democrats talk about helping the "middle class", but nobody ever says how they define "middle class".

If we go by the economic stimulus package guidelines, the top end of the "middle class" would be $75k for an individual and $150k for a couple, right? Do you actually consider $150k/year for a married couple to be "rich"?

Clinton has said if you make more than $95,000/year, you're rich.

Obama says if you make more than $250,000/year, you can afford to pay more taxes to contribute to the good of the people, however, when he was making that kind of money, did he contribute more? Nope...

Barack Obama with a key inroad to rural white voters who have so far backed Sen. Hillary Clinton, according to gun advocates. "The gun vote matters," says Ray Schoenke, founding president of the American Hunters and Shooters Association. And in Pennsylvania, he says, gun owners who follow key Washington legislation aimed at limiting ownership are moving in Obama's direction because of his support of past legislation to prohibit the use of federal money to confiscate weapons during a disaster like Hurricane Katrina. It's the only major difference on gun positions between Obama and Clinton, according to gun advocates, but it's enough for groups like Schoenke's to give the Illinois senator a passing grade. Schoenke, whose group takes a moderate approach to guns, such as endorsing gun show background checks, says Obama's support for the legislation suggests that the senator is high on individual rights. He also says the issue could be a key one in Pennsylvania, where Obama is chipping away at Clinton's lead. Schoenke's positive words for Obama are significant: In 2006, he backed Claire McCaskill in Missouri and her Senate victory was credited in part to the pro-gun vote, despite the NRA's opposition. Schoenke has also been fired on by the NRA for bending on issues the NRA is firm on and for donating to Democrats and even the Brady Campaign.

This article is all wrong...Obama does not support the right of the individual on anything. He supports collectivism and wants common good at the expense of the individual and our freedoms. He's not pro-gun. He's not pro-self-defense. He claims to support hunters, but how does that fit in when you want to ban all semi automatics and shotguns and high capacity magazines. Hunters use semi auto shotguns and semi auto small bore rifles, those would be illegal, as would semi auto pistols for competition.

Whoever wrote this article is either an idiot, a liar, or completely misinformed.
