Army Killing Suspect's Pistol May Be Linked to Texas 'Guns Galore' Shop

Federal agents, military investigators and Texas Rangers are investigating whether the gun used in the Fort Hood massacre was purchased at the "Guns Galore" shop in Killeen, Texas, according to the store co-manager. "They called last night and asked about a specific name and gun purchase, but the name was not Hasan," said the manager who gave only his first name, Dave. He said he did not want... Of course...

Don't blame the shooter, blame the guy that legally sold him the gun(s)..

I've so had it with the news media's coverage of this tragic event...

I think the last thing you really need to be blaming is Islam as well. The sect of Islam practiced by most extremists is not a mainstream sect of Islam. All of us need to make it clear in our minds that terrorism and Islam are not representative of each other. The man had a middle eastern name: fact. He is a terrorist/ Islamic extremist: myth/theory/outward craziness. It's not about offending anyone either. The point here is that if we aren't actually aware of who & what we are fighting, and we concentrate on ideas like these we fail to fight the actual problems both on the ground and here at home.

Yeah, other then his name.... and being a mentally disturbed individual that, in the midst of shooting 40+ people, jumped up on a desk to yell about how great Allah is.... why would we think he is an Islamic extremist? That's just silly.

I think the quoted poster was simply defending Islam as a whole and pointing out that not ALL Muslims are "extremists"... Just like any religion there are people that take it to the extreme.

Every religion has them to some extent

Oh, got it. Of course. I would never hold an entire religion liable for the actions of one of their followers.

Any religion can be twisted, Islamic extremists are distorting the word of their religion. But the press won't miss a chance to vilify both guns and the Islamic faith.

JC27 wasn't defending this mans twisted reasoning, at least he wasn't in how I read it.

Just because he was a crazy dumba** doesn't make him a terrorist or even an extremist. It makes him a dumba** with a gun. The real disgusting thing about all of this, I think we can all agree, is the way our media constantly loves to report on anything involving a weapon.
