Me and my XDM win Gold!
I participated in my first NRA style pistol competition last week. It was for the ShowMe State Games at Ammo Alley in Jefferson City, MO. This type of match was completely different than what I'm used to with IDPA, but it was a lot of fun none the less. I used my XDm 4.5", gear holsters and reloads. This was the course of fire:
String #1
9 ft. 3.5 sec. Two rounds, holster, repeat 3 times
21 ft. 15 sec. Fire six rounds, reload, fire six more
45 ft. 25 sec. Fire six rounds, reload, fire six more
75 ft.35 sec. Fire six, reload, fire six, reload, fire six
String #2
9 ft. 2.5 sec. Two rounds, holster, repeat 3 times
21 ft. 12 sec. Fire six rounds, reload, fire six more
45 ft. 20 sec. Fire six rounds, reload, fire six more
75 ft.25 sec. Fire six, reload, fire six, reload, fire six
This competition was all about accuracy which I would say is my strong point over speed. My groups were great until 75ft when I starting going low and left. I took a few tips from the veterans I knew who were there and did much better on string 2. Well after all was said and done, I was really surprised when they called my name for the gold medal! My girlfriend took some video on her phone so I'll add that once I edit it.

Yeah you missed a good time, it was a crowd of the usual guys. I got some good advice from dave and things just worked out in my favor. I'll be at the IDPA classifier this weekend as well.
