IDPA holster for the wife

Bottom line, my wife needs a better holster for IDPA. The one that came with her essentials kit isn't bad, but it sticks out pretty far and it's making it difficult to find a good concealment garment that doesn't look like a trash bag. My wife is a small girl, but she's got hips and prefers to wear her gun on the curviest part of her hip.

So what's a good belt loop holster for an XDm 3.8?

You might want to check out Wild Bills they have a number of great holsters. I personally own a Fusion Paddle and I'd recommend a Classic Speed Scabbard. The price is up there but then again for any quality holster it's going to be. I love the fusion paddle. It's great with either a light shirt or my vest. It is very comfortable and has a low profile.

Here's the link, hope this helps.

Unless she only wants to use what she'll actually be carrying, I would recommend she take advantage of the fact that for IDPA competition, women are allowed to wear offset holsters.

Read the rules and get the most she can out of it. It's a nice advantage to have.

Check out faliaphotography on you tube.... She does all kind of reviews on holsters for women that conceal. I enjoyed watching her video also!!

Unless your wife wants to draw from concealment (practice what she wears/might wear), women have been using DOH holsters pretty much since the beginning of IDPA to get around their "curves".

As previously stated, IDPA rules have an exemption for DOH use for women due to the female anatomy. (Women can use them, men can't.)

Go with a BladeTech DOH, and she'll have one of the nicest kydex holsters available to her for use in any competition division, both USPSA and IDPA. Myself and a number of Grandmasters indulge in said holster on the USPSA side

Price ~$70.

Comptach is my choice for IDPA. My wife uses a Serpa with her M&P and a Comptach for her Glock 17.

Fobus and Bladetech are also considerations in Kydex holsters.
