I shoot on a team here in Texas for sportsman team challenge. I need a red dot for xd9 subcompact and I'm having a really hard time finding one considering there is no rail on the top of my gun. Nationals is June 5th! I need any help I can get! The rules changed or I would be using my iron sights but I'm running out of time! Please help! Thanks

You can get a mount from Leupold for one of their Deltapoint sights that goes in your rear sight dovetail. We put one on my son's XDm and it's pretty slick.

Depends what you're looking for and how much you have to spend.

Tactical Rico did an excellent write-up on his Red Dot with a milled slide. He's running the Leopold Delta Point. I think for competition that is one of the better options available. It has the largest viewing window that I've seen so far.

Yep -- talk to Rich at Canyon Creek; see if he can mill your sub using an RMR, Leupold or whatevs. He's done it with full-sizes more than any other smith I know.

Wait -- June 5th? 2012?? You're WAY too late. No way anyone has that short a waiting period, at least no one I know of...maybe there's some skilled smith local to you, but you've procrastinated way too long on this one :P

If you're completely insane, get out some sandpaper, epoxy and DIY, but lord help you with the results...

I tried a Burris ll and local gunsmith told me it was impossible! Jerk! The Milling would take to much off the dovetail. Oh and my "pippy" is very accurate but I have to change with times and jerks at nationals! I will try and see what I can get done in the next short weeks left but it's looking like I will be using my 45 at this point. Thanks for the help! Any more ideas for pippy let me know because it's looking like I have a couple months before next comp
