How to apply the Glow-On gun sights paint. A few pointers

First lets focus on the product application, as the thread move along we'll give more pointers on how to properly use this product:

The process is pretty straightforward.
Stir the paint, load the applicator, apply small dabs, let it dry, apply transparent nail polish.

Clean the surface of your gun sights with alcohol (a good grade 91% alcohol, no rubbing alcohol, vodka or gin please)
Some "tooth" to the surface will definitely help, a couple of passes with fine sand paper are welcome.
Let it dry 1-3 hours, and cure well, 2-3 days. Before that, glow-On is a bit soft and it can be removed easily.
A nice transparent layer of nail polish varnish will ad a smooth surface and it'll make it easy to wipe clean.

Glow-On can be applied successfully over any type of iron sights there is.

We gun enthusiasts are familiar the plain iron sights most vintage firearms have as standard, just like the military-style sights found on the 1911 GI models.
Glow-On excels when used over this type of sights. There is no need to modify the sights configuration and the luminescent component helps retain the vintage look.

just curious as to how this looks in daylight. I had tried another paint that glows in the dark, it was greenish color. The problem was that i couldn't see the dot in daylight! Was fine at night though. Thanks.

While most manufacturer's paint is semi transparent or translucent, Glow-On Super Phosphorescent unique formula lets light in but it appears opaque and therefore covers well without the need of a white base coat like other products require, thus adding work which we find unnecessary.

One of the more frequently asked questions we receive is this one:"How does it looks , in daylight, in the night,?


In the beginning, we created our product to have the brightest glow possible and since the material has this properties, to be in one color: Yellowish white in daylight and to have a yellow-green glow.

Subsequent requests from our customers for different colors gave "light" to Glow-On Colors. Here are some photos which show those colors, in the presence o light and after being excited by light.
A few notes about the colors:
The colors are easier to understand if we think in terms of sherbet, that's right they look like sherbet.
The glow of the orange and red Glow-On have a green luminescence.
The best balance between day color and glow color is yellow Glow-On and green Glow-On.
However the blue seems to be a favorite.

Please keep in mind also that the term paint is loosely used here. The easiest way to apply it is using the small wooden stick we provide or similar, boldly, dabbing small drops, just like in the pictures below.
Forget about layers, apply it in one movement, if you don't like it start again.
Don't over work it, if you play with it too much it starts to thicken, making it difficult to achieve a good result.

A very important thing, the time it takes for it to charge is but a couple of seconds, not minutes. so I guess we'll take a video camera and show that next.

Unlike solvent based paints this is a water based product, however keep in mind that it won't come off your clothes with anything. To remove it, just pry it off with a plastic or wooden object like a brush handle, not to scratch your firearm finish. Other method is to soften it with acetone and then, yes pry it off.
