Truglo TFO Sight Installation?

Hello Everyone,
I have noticed several posts that Gilberts Guns can install Truglo TFO'S. However, this is my first sight installation so I would really like to hear your experiences and comments on Gilberts installations. Thank you everyone for your help in advance.

Sincerely,
Teky0101

Spend Wisely

Don't know a thing about Gilberts but stay away from TFOs...I ignored all the bad press they've been getting about durability, and now I'm paying for it. The front sight's vile fell out of mine yesterday after only about about a year of use (approx. 700 rounds) and keeping all cleaning solvents off the sights.

Buyer beware...

I agree, I chose Trijicon instead. However, TruGlo does make a night site that doesnt have the fiber optice strands. Their regular night sights should be fine.

Can't remember what thread, but I just read that everyone who went through Gilbert's for their TFO installation have not had the problems mentioned. I'm going to take the plunge myself and get a set of TFO's for my subcompact. If they fall out in a year, then at least I can say I tried them out and then go with Trijicons.

Is there some connection with your username and your sight choices?

No, more or less the connection is with how I spend my money.

I crack up when I read some of the posts on here ~ I love that people can say what they think, with as much sarcasm as they desire, and everyone still get along .... I wish in store retail could be the same

As far as the sights go, we sell tons of Truglos and there have been a few problems, ( 5 or 6 total) but it ends up tallying way below 1% of the total sold. We have definitely had the worst luck with the quality of the lamps in Trijicon. Problems specifically with a shortened life of the Tritiium ~ but ultimately it is all in what you like.

The debate will continue with or without my input

Dear GilbertsGuns,
I just wanted to let you know that my posting above was not to disrespect you or your company. I was simply really interested in having the sights installed and would like to know the quality of installations since I realize that some companies hire many people and some are more qualified than others. However, upon my observations above it appears that your company is outstanding and I have also personally ordered different products from your company in the past and received superb service. Thank you again for all of your hard work and dedication you provide to the firearms industry.

You weren't disrespecting me or my company ~ no worries. If I were in your shoes I would check and ask around also.

Have a good day

Jason
