However, it is still interesting because this picture is of an XD Tactical with a Thumb Safety. As far as I knew, the only XD with a thumb safety was an XD Service in .45 ACP. What gives?
I wonder if the slides are still interchangeable???? Might have just thrown a Bi-tone 5" on there...

I assume that that is a 5" BiTone, but wasn't the only XD with a thumb safety the 4" service model? I don't think I have heard of or seen a 5" tactical model with a thumb safety.
Edit: Nevermind! I just looked and apparently the thumb safety comes on both 4" and 5" models.

I think your right. I was saying that maybe he just threw a thumb safety 45 lower on a 5" Tactical bi-tone 45 upper. I think the thumb safety is just in the Lower and the Slides stayed the same.

OK , sorry about the screw up, I did put the right pic with th eright gun this time ~ that's what happens when I am in a hurry with a listing. That has been corrected.
As far as the gun I showed, I do now have the XD 5" Tactical Stainless 45 's with Manual Safety in stock
I shot my new XDM at a local steel plate match and it performed as expected. I just wish I had!
I must confess that I wasn't keeping up with XD model developments before I bought the XDM. I wasn't expecting improvements on such an already exceptional weapon.
Everything we have heard from customers has been very positive on the XD-M , except for the availability of extra mags ( hit and miss )
I bought extra magazines direct from Springfield. I had to call to get them. But the great thing is through the end of the month Springfield is running a 20% off orders. Since the XDM magazines aren't online yet the webstore discount still applies.
I think around $30 each. But my have been less. I know they didn't cost more than $30 each. Still charge the cost of shipping. You may be able to get them cheaper being a dealer. I have tried other magizines in my other xd and it wasn't the same as the factory mag. I always stand by factory mags. It was what the company designed them to run.
