There are kits available to resolve that complaint. I shot a thousand plus through my XD9 before I ordered a Powder River Precision kit and now I wouldn't give it up. It takes a little patients and a little mechanical skills or else you can turn it over to a gunsmith for a few more dollars. My total trigger travel is less than 1/4 inch, measured at the middle of the trigger, and approximately 3 to 3.5 lbs. pull. It has reduced my target hits by about 30% (7 out of 10 in the 2" ring from 10 yds.). It might be just a matter of confidence, but it works!
