They will be releasing the 1911 EMP 40 sometime this year, but I do not know when. They actually first put this in the price to distributors last year, and of course none shipped in 2007, but I do think some will come in 2008

Springfield is more backed up on the 1911 end than I have ever seen. We have been direct with them for some time and it has never been this bad. Their demand is at an all time high, far out pacing what they can produce, and that is why they are so behind.

For example, they were thousands of units behind on the basic 1911 GI 3" black pistols from 2007 orders, 2008 orders probably won't even get looked at, unless they were part of a promo

Take Care
Jason

Not bad-mouthing the Springfield 1911's as personally I think they are great and have two (and want more different models)....

We have a .40 Springfield 1911 at the club and it never performs well. It's very picky about feeding ammo. It's not worth the rental fees since it jams up so much. Even the club staff say Springfield 1911's don't like 40's at all. It's in the rental cabinet because they can't sell it.

For whatever reason, Springfield 1911's only like .45, 9mm and .38 Super

Give me their number and I'll buy it. Its not hard to make them run, some just need some tuning out of the box. Its also not just springfields that don't like .40 and typically 9mm, the 1911 was never designed for those short rounds. Load 40 or 9 out to 1.180 and a lot of problems go away.
