I purchased TFOs some time back for my XD9SC, but decided to put them on my XD45C due to the short barrel on the XD9SC. My concern was that with the short barrel and sight distance that the front sight coming back a 1/4 inch or so would shorten my sight distance even more.
Would it really make that much difference? I do like the TFO's on my XD45C and would like some night sights for my XD9SC.

Got my XD40 slide back from Gilbert's, with TrueGlos fitted in all their luminant green glory. Wow, what a difference in visibility, both in sunlight and dark!
This is a superb deal (thanks Jason) and not a mark on the slide either - way to go Bill, the gunsmith(?) whose card was in the returned package. Just one point - did anyone else have their original XD sights returned? I was kinda expecting them in the package. Don't know if they can be refitted or not (only if I came to sell the XD and wanted to keep the TrueGlos - no idea why I would want to do that though). Phil

$153 is insane .... I understand making money ( which is what I am here to do also ) but that is unreasonably high.
Crazy. Hopefully we will be able to run the special another 2 to 3 weeks. All the stock I built up is dwindling quicklyand I do not think they will do another deal. I hope they will we will see and I will let you all know Thanks Jason

Someone has suggested that these not be used on a carry weapon because they are to fragile... Does others share this opinion??? Do others have them on their carry weapons??? My carry weapon does not get beat up but I do plan to put the sights on it and I don't want to have to worry about that...

Profesor, that is crazy! These sights are for duty / carry weapons. The tritium vials can break if dropped hard right onto the sight, so if you have hard direct blows to your weapon then maybe consider something else, otherwise these sights are as good as it gets in opinion, using fiber optic & tritium technology. Fiber optic pins are fragile, as I had one break on my muzzleloader just by it falling lightly in mud. However, on this site the fiber optics are encased by the sides of the sight bases.
So if your weapon isn't subjected to a lot of extreme use I'd say to go for these!!! |
