Highest mileage XD?

Great posts guys.

If anything its great to see that there are a lot of high mileage XDs out there that are still performing at the top of their game.

Have there been any documented high round tests other than the one mentioned above?

At today's prices, cheap 9mm ammo is $20 per 100. So if you put 10,000 rounds through the gun, you are spending $2000 on ammo.

When you think of it that way, it seems kind of silly the we try to save $50 when shopping around for the gun in the first place.

ive got maybe 1000 rounds through mine...zero malfunctions.....
i think pretty much any modern handgun can go for tens, even hundreds of thousands of rounds.....

in fact, i dont think ive ever heard of one "wearing out"

I think glock fanboys statement about glocks longterm reliability is a moot point these days. XD's, M&P's, FNP's, etc are all very capable of a service life well beyond 20 or 30 thousand rounds.

As far as the highest shot count I've ever seen on an XD. It's one of the ones at my local range, just a plain ol' service 9. I asked one of the guys about it one day, he said he guessed it to be over 40k. Even if it was half that its still pretty impressive! Its a pre-melonite one, I think he said they've had it since sometime in 03.

Don't know how true this is, but my instructor for my Concealed Handgun License uses a G17 Glock that has, according to him, over 400,000 rounds through it. He averages 20-25 students per class, with a minimum of 50 rounds for each student. I can tell you that during our class, while the guns functioned (pull trigger, bang), the front sight kept falling out that he had to pull out a different gun, another glock. He even said the only cleaning they got was a barrel brush and some cleaning on the feed ramp.

I am not a Glock Fan boy, but if those numbers are correct I left impressed .
