match grade barrel?

match grade barrel?

hey guys, i heard the xd m has a match grade barrel, and it is suppieror to the normal xd .40 barrel.

do you know anyone that sells a polished, better then stock quality barrel for an xd .40 4 inch?

thanks in advance, if not i would like to find somone to professionally polish my barrel.

i dont want a bling gun, but the barrel does wear, and id like it polished.

Mine does not say match on it but they claim it is "match grade". Some of the ads have barrels that say "match" on them and it has confused us because our pistols aren't the same. They sure shoot nice...I'll tell you that!

Pistol Gear sells a "semi drop in" upgraded barrel. According to Pistol Gear they don't have many problems with them not dropping in.

my XDm has a 'match' barrell and the SN starts with MG1022XX if that matters. For polishing, look here.

Double entendre aside, I sometimes wonder how different the "match" barrel really is, and whether it's more a matter of better marketing than better engineering. What makes a "match" barrel?

My Kimber has a Match 'Bull' barrel. It is visibly heavier than a standard 1911 barrel... but the XDm looks the same.... Is it just me and Ditch that thinks this?

Putting "match" on it probably sells a lot more. Kind of like putting LEO only on something.
