Sounds like your Tac and my Sub will be hanging out together. He will have my pistol tomorrow via FedEx.
I am having a trigger job and a new finish done. I can't wait to get it back! I know how you feel. Did he give you any idea what turnaround would be on yours? I honestly forget what he told me.
Enjoy your "new" Tac!

For the past two months I have been looking into purchasing a new pistol. I have checked the R&D of different gun manufacturers.. i.e. Glock, S&W, Springfield, Colt... checked the prices on different firearms. I was initially looking at getting a S&W Sigma .40, but after talking with a couple of friends I started looking at other manufactures plainly enough... the XD40. I was speaking with someone about the XD and he plainly told me not to even bother with it, to get a Glock over the XD. Now to say that I have even shot the XD and the results were execellent. I have posted in a couple of different areas on a couple of different subjects, but now I need some advise. I know one of the other members stated that you can get addicted to shooting plastic. This is not my first "plastic" gun. I have read all the post on this forum, have soal searched and came to the conclusion that the Glock toten dudes WILL not respect any other gun manufacture when the product can out shoot better than them.

funny you should mention that...

MY dad is a Glock packer... and he and I get into some funny arguments and a bit of razzin' as well.
Both guns are quality and shoot very well. Glock has proven itself and the XD continiues to prove itself daily. The XD has been around a fraction of time the Glock has... and it is proving to be an outstanding firearm.

Would I trust my LIFE to one??? ABSOLUTELY!!!! Not only do I have one, but my wife has hers as well.

Actually I have 4...
XD40 Service
XD357 Service
XD40 Tactical
XD9 Subby

That settles it!.. Would I ever own a Glock?? I dunno..
It's no that I hate them or that they are sub-standard.... it just ain't for me...
And that's what it all boils down to.... PERSONAL PREFERENCE BOYS!!!

I own an XD and wouldn't trade the firearm for anything(ok maybe Jessica Simpson). I believe the XD ia a great firearm, I also think there are some issues Springfield needs to work out especially the finish and maybe some fine tuning here and there. I believe that we will continue to see more poeple accepting the XD as time continues.

well I finally did it

Honestly, everyone has a preference for almost everything. I like the XD alot. I cannot say that I would (if forced to make a choice) pitch the Glock for one though. Glocks have an incredible reputation for durability that far surpasses even the XD. The Hirtenberger factory has a G-17 that was finally retired just before it reached the 250,000 mark! Chuck Taylors G-17 is close to the 200,000 mark now,I believe. Glocks have fewer parts than the XD.The Glock has become the standard against which every combat pistol is judged, that's why it's constantly brought up so much. This being said, I still like my XD alot and there is no fueding in my gunsafe between Glocks,XD's, Sigs....etc.
