Meh......they should of chopped the grip. The grip is the concealment problem, not the barrel length.

So now essentially what you have is an xd service model. Yay....

Yep, that's how I see it, too. I wish they'd paired the shorter barrel with a shorter grip.

In fact, I wish SA made the XD Compact in more than just the .45 caliber. I know people have chopped their own Service models and added SC mags to convert them to Compacts, but I didn't want to do that to my XD9 Service.

Every other page of the major firearm magazines has ads pushing the older model XD in compact/Subcompact for super high capacity in a compact carry piece.

XDM Compacts may never come, if they do, it will be a LOOOOOOOONG time. Springfield would not be running these ads so often and in your face if they had the desire to bring out another model. There were literally 5 ads for the XD Sub 9mm in this one magazine alone.

XD-40 Sub-Compact

Can anyone relate to me their experiance firing the XD-40 Sub-Campact with the 3 " barrel. Going to the range Wed. and fire mine for the first time, and was woandering if anyone csan tell me about their grouping at we'll say 15 to to feet? The extensoin on the standard magazine helps a lot with the fit in my right hand as they are a bit large.

at 15 feet, I'd say a novice can be between 3-4" groups. I could confidently keep them within about an inch at that close of range. Practice on that trigger is the main concern and what gives you that accuracy. The pistol is PLENTY accurate at more than that distance. Practice that trigger control/sight picture.
