Trigger bar help.
Alright, this is kind of embarrassing, but I'm a self-admitted tinkering junkie. I didn't like the way my trigger felt. The reset was my biggest issue. So I removed the trigger bar, and did a bit of filing.
The result was lengthening the pre-travel or "take-up", and eliminating the over-travel, which shortened the reset. Well after getting it damn-near perfect, ******* that I am, I decided that I'd give it just a touch more.
Well that touch was just a half-touch too much. The trigger now breaks just as it hits the frame in the opening it pokes down through. It still breaks, but if the trigger is pulled very slowly, it touches the frame, and then requires a slight extra squeeze to get it to break. Obviously, this isn't acceptable.
After a bit of searching, I've decided to get the Powder River striker lever kit for it. But I'm thinking I'll need to replace the trigger bar. The problem is, I don't know how to go about getting a replacement trigger bar. I've heard that Springfield will no longer sell replacement parts, and that I will have to send the gun back. I don't even know if it will be covered under warranty, since I modified it in the first place.
And I really don't want to send the gun back. As I understand it, handguns have to be shipped Next Day Air, by law, so the cost of shipping alone would be more than, an after market part.
Anybody know if it's possible to buy an OEM trigger bar? And if not, what after market bar should I get that will work with the Powder River striker lever kit?
Links/prices would be nice too. Thanks!

You can also post up in the classifieds under WTB and see if anyone has a stock bar that they are willing to sell. Sometimes people will replace their trigger bar and will be willing to sell of the factory one. Good luck...

You could shave a touch off the backside of the trigger to get a bit more travel range.

Being that you mucked up the trigger bar try contacting Springfield and tell them what you did (They need a good laugh at your expense) . If they won't just send you a new trigger bar ask if it is OK for you to just send the frame, as opposed to the whole gun, so they can install a new trigger bar. They really don't need the slide to install the trigger bar. You can ship the frame as a gun part through normal means or they may just ask for you "mucked up" trigger bar. Be humble and sound pitiful and you might get away with it. When you do get your Powder River Safety Lever follow Dan's instruction carefully to avoid any other mishaps. Take a close look at Fastsc92's set screw installation.

P.S. That humble thing usually works for me when I muck up a part.

Springfield Will NOT send anyone a new trigger bar. Dawn from Springfield told me they are on their "Do Not Sell" list as it must be fitted and in fact they need the whole gun. My trigger bar trigger pin is loose and wobbling after 3K rounds. I have to send it to them and will do so later this week. She told me they will reimberse me for shipping. THEN I can get the PowderRiver safety bar kit from Daniel.
