Here is the exact law for florida. Its law 709.06 subsection 12. Funny thing is I dont see anything about buisness with posted signs anymore. The first time I took the CCW course, I remember there was somthing about posted signs, but since that they re-wrote the laws to be easier for the average person to understand...IE you dont need to be a lawyer to get it.
This states exactlywhere you can carry in florida. Uncle Dave Firearms - FS 790.06 (12)
In florida, the law states that you can't bring your gun into the usual list (hospital, feb building, bar, sports event, ect.), or any place who has the official posted sign, which can be dowloaded from the state and printed. It has referances ("in accordance with law..."). I don't believe a generic "no guns allowed" sign is legal(in florida), but dont quote me on that. The laws changed here not to long ago, for the better. They made it easier for the common person to understand the law.
+1 on the new florida right to carry and stand your ground laws. glad to have them.
and i breifly looked into it, yes, they must have the state sign saying no guns with the statute.

If your state does not recognize gun free zones then you have every right to go in regardless of the sign. If they ask you to leave then you must leave or face a trespassing charge as you are on private proprety and must comply with the request to leave, if issued.
If your state recognizes gun-free zones, then you generally commit a crime to go into a properly posted zone. So don't go in.
Best practice is not to patronize people who don't recognize our (and their own) 2A rights.

What I love about Florida's new laws is the Catle docturine (dont have to run from danger in your house), and the fact that it applies to your place of buisness, and your car.
They set precedent in Miami a few years back when a BG tried to carjack someone, and he told him "no" with his gun.

so for any one of you that have it. lets say you go to get gas and you get ready to go inside to pay and notice the door has a no firearms allowed sign. do you go ahead and go in, or do you go back to your car and put it in there. same thing for malls and other buildings. what do you do.
The local CCW folks keep a good list of companies to boycott. In the months leading up to my acquisition of a permit, I've made a note of all places I typically go that forbid firearms and made it a point never to go there again.
The only places I go that forbid carrying anymore are the hospital and church. Both of which, I plan in advance for.

thats why the XD and/or 870 stay in the truck at all times, and there is a glock 17 and 26 in the house. i cant wait to get my CCW. this place is turning into the second MLK street for our town, and my shop is right in the heart. 2 shootings within 5 blocks in the past 6 months, countless in 5 miles...

In TX any place of business has the right to not allow firearms. The do have to post a specific sign with exact verbage. Any old sign just wont do. Our local Toys R Us has a non legal sign posted, but I still respect it. Actually I try not to give them my business, but when I have to, I still respect their wishes.
How many businesses have signs identifying an unarmed target zone? I've been looking around more since I've been working on getting my CCW, but still haven't seen one...
Either that, or around here people figure this is Philadelphia, and no one cares anyway...

Yepper. Any ole "No Firearms Allowed" sign won't cut it. It has to be the 30.06 state approved sign. 1" black letters on a white background of specific size. Any other postings don't mean jack.

It has already been said but In FL I would just walk on by, do my business and never come back. The only places off limits while packing are those listed in the statutes. A sign has no legal bearing on your ccw. But it is private property so you could be asked not to come back if found to have violated their policies.
