Is 3" as good as full size?

I've handled an XD9 4" in the past and had decided I liked it and might get one in the future, and now I've seen an ad in a local paper for a subcompact 3" in OD green with 4 magazines included for $450.

I wonder though: Does the subcompact version have the same "feel" as the full size guns? Are they as easy to shoot accurately? Do they lose alot of power versus one with the longer barrel? And is the price of $450 reasonable for a used one?

I don't have any experience with the subcompact sizes and how they feel. But 450 seems like a fair price for that.I payed 400 for my xd 9 service used just standard accessories came with it so if you get 2 extra mags thats a pretty fair price to me.

Xd9sc & Xd40sc

I have both the 40/9 SC. They are a DREAM to shoot. As good or better then the service. I just got the XD9SC for 444.00 out the door. From budsgunshop. They are a sponser on XDtalk. they are in KY close to me. I would recomend them to any one call and talk to them I bet you can get a NIB one for 444.00 then the FFL fee and you wont be disapointed. Or if you can talk the used one down to 400.00 or close to I would jump on it.

Well, sounds like I need to contact this guy and put down some money! I'm really surprised to hear that the SC can actually be BETTER to shoot than the larger models. I've always thought with the shorter barrel, you get less power and more muzzle blast, and the shorter site radius made it harder to be accurate, and therefore would be more of a pain to shoot than a pleasure. I always thought people bought SC guns more out of necessity than preference.

But I'll give it a try and let you know how it works out for me, assuming the guy hasn't already sold it.

I will be getting my XD9 sc friday hopefully ( weather permitting- was 60 today, might be 20 and 12" of snow friday LOL- January for you). The seller said up to 1500 rounds through it, comes with 3 mags, and is the basic black, 375.00 , but being this is a gun hating state I opted to transfer through a dealer for the private transaction so everything is done right, plus the gun can stay at the dealer's for the 7 days rather than the seller having to drive back the looong way he came, so tack on another 55.00. I also got 2 don hume leather holsters for 30.00.

As to that Bud's on gunbroker, they will not ship to Maryland, why I don't know, in fact he seems to make a big fuss in the way it is printed. All XD's come with the fired casing required and the MD ffl can sell the required integral gunlock seperate to a customer after the gun has been shipped, so I don't understand why so many dealers on gunbroker refuse to ship to MD.

The dealer in MD I used had a new XD40 sc for 550.00. What is known as "maryland prices".

You cannot legislate morality, and banning inanimate objects will never substitute for personal responsibility. Banning and limiting things merely makes them profitable to criminals via laws of supply and demand.

The 4 is a little more accurate past about 15 yds but the sc is easier to conceal due to the shorter grip. I have a 40sc that I carry and shoot IDPA with both the sc and a 9mm service. Probably going to get a 9mm tacticool for IDPA.
