Per http://www.hs-arms.com/europe/english.htm , the HS2000 is available in 9mm, .40S&W, 45ACP, and 375SIG (typo).

It is a shortened 9mm round as most EU countries can not own pistols of the same caliber as the military, think it is 9mmx17mm

I wasn't aware of that. A prescribed caliber for croatian police is a 9mm ie. 9x19, as well as for the army. I know that the german police is also using 9x19 for their Walthers. You're talking about .380 and I don't think any EU police is using them as their primary round.

You have to be a smart, discerning person on the gun forums, because you have to filter out most of what you read.

I had a similiar run in with a blinded M1911 fanboy. He was bashing on Glock (needless to say I had my Glock hat on). It ended when I challenged him to a shooting test of reliability and accuracy. We were both 50 rounds into it when he had two stoppages with his Para-Ordanace .45 compact (I was shooting my Glock 30). On the second stoppage, I looked at him smiled and walked off the range. I've never heard any crap from him since. Sometimes you have to challenge these people (in a adult way of course).

Take Care and be proud of that XD you shoot.

Those kimber's do look nice and all, but I can't get past the 7rd capacity... :T Reckon if I ever need to draw down on someone, here's to hoping its only one bad guy, but if its more than one, well I'd rather have the equivalent of 2 mags ready to go than be found lacking.

edit: rockin' the .45 service btw

sold my Kimber for a second XD

Well I carried a kimber custom as a duty weapon for the past seven or so years and I loved every minute of it. About six months ago I got my first XD 40 Tactical it was an older one and had a few ftf issues but the weapon shot really good and I have enjoyed it. In fact it shot so well that about a month ago I sold my kimber to get another XD for my wife to carry on duty, and just last week I traded my first XD in for a brand new one in od green as my new duty weapon. So I guess I have been converted.

oh I still have my Colt series 80 lightweight commander, I dont think I will ever give it up.

I was a die hard kimber fan untill I shot the XD. So if they ever shoot one they will see the light.

When the Kimber runs out of gas, the XD will still be chugging along pumping out lead.

My XD is a carry weapon. It is all business not an art form. I don't need fancy cocobolo sides or other cosmetic features. I want a safe gun that will put out the maximum amount of lead when I need it, where I need it to go.

I like Kimber products but for my purposes and for the same weight and size, the XD simply does a better job. It is curious if the XD sucks so much why Kimber felt the necessity to build the KPD's.
