XD-9SC Mag Question

A Mag question from a newbe...

The XD is new to me, reformed Glock user,

I have a XD-9 Sub-Compact that came with 1 10 round
mag and 1-16 round mag with a filler on the bottom.

It looks like a standard mag might hold 12 or perhaps
14 and still fit in the mag well with out sticking out.

Is there a mag more than the 10 that fits without the
extra lenth?

I also have a XD-45 Compact, same deal , one 10 and
one 12 round mag with the filler.

Many thanks,

ei8ht

I've heard of folks using a 40sc mag to hold more 9's. Something about bending the lips in a bit. I've never tried it.

First, welcome to the boards!

Yes, XD40c mags can hold 12 or 13 but you'll have to bend in the feed lips ~.35 -.50 mm each side to have the bullets feed/present properly.

I don't have first hand experience, going off the my recall from discussions on this board.

as always, cheers,

Yup this works just fine. I have 2 I've used for a few years now with no issues.
Use a 10 rounder as the reference for adjusting the 40 mags so the rounds sit at the same height and angle.

The .40 mag hold 13 9mm rounds comfortably. Some mags require that you bend the lips in a bit. I have had 100% function in the mag I did this with, but I still have yet to trust it to carry it.

I wish SA would make 9mm mags that were not limited (the dimples).

yep I have 2 40sc mags in my 9mmsc works perfect, I did have to bend the lips in a tad

the dimples in the 9mmsc mag do not limit the capacity, I machined them out and it still only holds 10
