Did the CC Laws of NY, MD change?

Last night,

I ended up in GLENCOE, KY. At a local truck stop and had a meal at their restaurant.

While eating, a local fella was wearing a t-shirt, black, and it said something about concealed weapons class and a number. Did not catch the number...........

I was sitting two seats down from him at the counter, and a truck driver came to ask him some questions.

Then, I over heard him state --You can carry concealed in NY, if you have your CC from another state((???))

Needless to say I was baffled.

He also said you can carry concealed in Maryland too, if you have your CC from another state.

Did I miss something somewhere?

Since when did/does NY allow you to carry concealed in their state, if you have a CC or CCW from another state.

Or Maryland.

He said he gets his information from the INTERNET, checks it everyday.

Negated the Department of Justice as the source for correct reciprocity.

So be forewarned, if you take class in GLENCOE, KY. You may be lead down the wrong path, IMHO.

This guy's blood pressure and attitude went right off the charts, was he right? Have these laws changed, or was he just giving that fella a lead filled story??

As far as the staff tells me, at this place in Glencoe, KY he is a VET and crazy. Apparently a relative of his works in the kitchen??

So what is everyone's thoughts?

I am wondering if he is looopie how he got a CC permit, much less allowed to teach ? Much less pass on incorrect information?

Thanks

Only believe half of what you hear and
nothing that you see on the net!

No, Maryland nor New York will honor any
state's CC.

NY allows you to travel directly to or from an NRA sanctioned even with guns locked in a case, out of reach, separate from ammo. But yeah, no concealed carry w/o a NY permit.

I don't think MD will ever allow a carry permit, unless you give away both testicles. I know guys who hand a great deal of cash running vending routes in Baltimore and it is almost impossible for them.

I think the guy who runs the Cop Shop told me about that problem . That was back in like 2000. Nothing has changed I see. I find it outragious.

Maryland is a may-issue state and very fussy about it. I do know a retired correctional officer ( he gave me shooting lessons today- he is a certified instructor) and I asked him if he had a MD ccw permit, he actually said yes, but he never uses it, it is less trouble to call 911. I wasn't going to press him on it and get into some stupid argument. He was nice enough to give me a free lesson.

Maryland ticks me off, I have to travel through it to get to every other state in the South. The states I go to south of Maryland honor my permit, but I have to deal with getting through Maryland every time.

Living in Pa is like being surrounded by idiots when it comes to gun laws...NY to the North, NJ on the Eastern Front, and Maryland to the South...

I guess Ohio is ok, but close enough.

I had a customer ( hmm, who was that guy?) who had to go 1 mile into MD to pick his mount up. He has a PA ccw and wasn't going to unload and case his weapon for a 1 mile ride into MD. He didn't have it on his body, rather sitting in a slot between the driver seat and center console. On my propery he was ok to have like that being it is private property and I was ok about it, but I warned him about MD's stupid laws. I am sure he went straight back that 1 mile to the Mason Dixon line and scurried back into PA. It is a shame MD won't recognize another state's lisc. I bet he won't go into MD for much of anything, with taxidermy work being an exception.

My parents are going to dinner this evening in Timonium, at a restaurant that had been robbed before. Do I want to go? No. Who's going to protect if the place gets robbed while we are there and a robber decides to start shooting people? Maybe the owners keep a gun handy, but more than likley not. Dial a prayer? Alot can happen in 5-10 mins.

Maryland sucks. LOL
