.357 sig not locking in battery?

Several months ago I purchased a new .357 service model.Upon my first range session I was somewhat let down. The ammo was remington 125 gr.hollow points. The problem is that although no "jams" were experienced, this pistol was not going fully into battery although it kicked empties out"with authority I might add" and had no problems stripping the next round out of the mag. I'd say about an eight to a quarter inch, out of battery. This problem plagued me through a full 200 rounds intermittantly. At several points I field stripped the pistol and sprayed some rem-lube into the firing pin channel and heavy bearing surfaces as well. On one fast string through a full magazine though, the pistol never failed? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks

My XD-357 has not returned to battery a few times and each time the round that loaded when this happened, measured out of spec for bullet setback.

Mine did it once this morning, I just pulled the slide back a little and it went on it and fired fine. Will it get better as it is broken in ?

As with any firearm which is handheld, run it out a couple hundred
rounds. If it still has a problem, then let SA fix it.

I just fired 20 more through it, it did it 3 times. The ammo is 125gr Remington UMC (thats all he had at the store).

Im going to strip it down, polish the feed ramp and give it a good cleaning right now.

I had this happen a couple times, shooting not so cheap, but apparently poor quality reloads.
Never had a problem with factory ammo. I usually shoot federal fmj now. If you are able, check the ammo. Most of the problems I have read about have been due to out of spec ammo. I know that you said you used factory ammo, but it is worth checking.

The case is a little out of spec, and doesn't load right, a little tap on the slide drives the round fully into the chamber.
