aftermarket XD triggers?
I know some eyebrows will go up here, but has anyone heard of an aftermarket polymer trigger being offered for the XD line? There is a metal trigger option for the Glock (or so I've read) but I can't find anything about polymer triggers for the XD yet. It's the one major piece of metal in the frame on the XD and since I shoot a lot it heats up after about 300 rounds to an uncomfortable level. If it were made of ploymer it would not conduct heat as it does now.
I know it's just a preference but I shoot hundreds and hundreds of rounds at each outing and I need to be able to put them through a single XD in order to keep it in the stable. I LOVE these guns, but have to address this heat issue.
Thanks very much for any input.

I shoot "hundreds of rounds" when I go out too and have not had a problem w/ this...last time I went out I put about 350 rounds through it w/ no heat problems on the trigger...

Same here...
I'll double check next time though.

Are you sure it's not that your finger is getting tender from the trigger? That could be it. When blisters start to develop, there is a heating sensation on the skin.

Last time I went through a recert, we shot 1000 rounds over 2 days. I've never seen/felt the trigger on my 40 service get any hotter than the rest of the pistol. WTH!

I've had others report the same thing, but the last two times I took it out I shot 300 rounds in about 30 minutes and got the trigger so hot I couldn't touch it. After ten minutes it cooled enough to be comfortable again and then got right back up there after a few rapid mags. I don't dump ammo downrange, but I get my shooting in fast when I'm forced to use a public gun range rather than the desert. Don't like the crowds, eh.
No, it's not finger sensitivity or blisters. I shoot a great deal and my hands are conditioned for it. Can't say that I do know what it is for sure but it's not that. It does make sense that more heat would be "stored'/conducted through the trigger than anywhere else because it's the only big metal source in the area but nobody but me seems to notice it. Both of mine get very toasty at the 300 round mark shooting that fast.
Hacker and the rest of you who have also shot hundreds at a time, were you putting them through the gun at the same pace as I've described? (100 rounds every 10 minutes) if so, I'll accept my "it's just me" label and limp away with what dignity I have left. If it was more spaced out, then I'll slow it down some and see how that affects things. I just figured a poly trigger would cure it either way.
Thanks, all.

To answer your question of an aftermarket trigger assembly...NO!
Heat displacement or conduction to the trigger...Never felt it or seen it. The slide get's EXTREMLY hot after 100 rounds (30 minutes) and takes a while to cool down.
Trigger finger sensitivity: If you shoot alot (2-3 week) you'll start to develop blisters on the tip of your index finger (they'll go away) and the second knuckle middle finger of your strong hand. Some also get a few blisters in thier index finger sencond knuckle of the support hand.

That only happens when it is on full auto!
Where are you located. I suspect it might be more of a problem in the southwest vs the high Rockies of Montana. I didn't notice it last summer, but I did notice the slide would get very hot sometimes.

Not callin you a liar, but I don't think its possible... I shot through twelve mags nonstop/rapidfire for sort of an Endurance/torture test of my own a while back, and the only heat on the trigger was from my own skin, and it wasn't hot, just warm... not even uncomfortably warm, just like body heat warm...
