XD only shoot Blazer

My XD will only reliably shoot BLAZER aluminum cased ammo, Gold Dots, and Hydra shoks. It will fail to extract about every 2 rounds on any other type of ammo.

Does anyone have any ideas on what is wrong? I want to try something myself before I send it off or buy a different pistol.

How many rounds have you put through it? The gold dots and Hydra Shoks are both Nickle cased too, right? So your gun has a problem with brass cases. I'm going to say something with the extractor; not sure how you could try and fix it yourself...maybe take the extractor off and get it really clean? (could you be missing some grime in there???)

www.xd-hs2000.com has disassembly instructions

edit: If you do try this, I recommend doing it inside a gallon bag, at least the first couple steps...that way you won't lose springs

Unhappy Tight breach

Sounds like a really tight breach. I would send the BBL back for check and a reaming if needed.

Probably about 5,000. I tried cleaning the extractor when I took it apart for Duracoat.

I thought those brands were brass.

Thanks for the help.

What caliber are you shooting?

The rounds you mentioned are full power loads. Could it be that your recoil spring is too stong for conventional loads? The other loads may not have enough recoil to operate the slide far enough rearward to eject the cases.
I run into this when developing loads.

Thanks for the help.
Is the extractor chipped, cracked, or otherwise mangled? Have you swapped recoil springs in the past 2000 rounds?
