Just looked at each of my XD's the only "wear" in that area is some shiny on the front of the lock block next to the rails. This area is where the little top ears of the device would hit and given such small surfaces that poly piece is gonna shred pretty quick and more importantly, if your recoil spring is even slightly off-center it's gonna be malf city in there.
Mall ninjas are gonna eat this up, I'll stay away thanks.

Yeah, I'm not so sure about that thing. I agree with Kaboom, seems like it has the potential cause more problems than it is worth.
