Anyone with half a mind should pack up and move if they live in New York. Granted that means finding a new job, which may not be easy. But I'm glad I don't live there.

The law will ultimately be updated to exempt police I'm sure. But the fact they missed that before voting on it shows there was no logical thought put into the bill. It was all emotion.

Till April? I thought they were mandating that the mags could not be in NY at all. No grandfather clause. That isn't the case?

Yes, the short 10 round magazine from the XD .45 Compact will work just fine in your XDm 3.8 .45ACP (which came with a 9 rnd. short magazine) The 10 round magazine will stick out of the grip just a little, less than 1/2 inch. But this will also provide more room for your pinky finger.
Sorry you live in the peoples republic of NY and do not have access to standard 13 rnd. magazines like those of us who reside in free states.
