Ammo for XDs????

Jus picked up my brand span kin new XDs. First time I shot it, couldn't asked for better results. Recoil was a little rough, but nothin unmanageable. Now, on the test run I was throwing 230 gr out of it. So the question is, should I keep the tested true and true 230gr or maybe go lighter? I am currently rolling 230gr Corbon +P. main purpose for this ammo would be a self-defense role

On a side note, my buddies keep asking to see it, and every time after I drop the mag and empty the chamber, the round is very stubborn and doesn't like to eject.

Thanks guys

Why would you use +P vs. standard load?

why wouldnt it be? +P out of that smaller gun is help contributing to the "rough" recoil your describing.

You need to rack the slide harder and that round will fly right out. I had the same problem early on. Just needs a full can of man

+p is going to make up for the shorter barrel. And "full can of man". Good comment, ****** up my hand at the gym, so really can't get a hold of it yet

I had to laugh at that one...just pulling back the slide to put a round in the chamber takes a real man's grip, I've come to find out, lol.

All +P is going to really do is enhance muzzle flash and report; out of that short of a barrel, you'll likely only gain 50fps or less...not enough to matter.

Read this:

Best Choices for Self Defense Ammo

and choose one of the loads listed; buy a box, run a couple of mags through your pistol, see if it's 100% reliable, and if you like it's accuracy and control when rapid firing--and I'm talking about a mag dump as fast as you can, keeping all rounds on target.

If it's reliable, and it shoots well for you...buy a couple of boxes, and don't worry about it anymore. You've chosen a round that works in YOUR gun, not what some anonymous somebody in some interwebz gun forum says works in THEIR gun.
