I looked at the rear sights on my XD40 Service model that I bought in 2001 and mine are also off to the left but it shoots perfect to point of aim. My XDm 9mm sights are centered and it also shoots point of aim. Two days ago I bought a XD 40 sub compact and the rear sight is to the left a little bit just like my XD40 Service. I haven't had a chance to take it out to the range yet but I'm sure it's just fine also.
