What to do on light-strike/hard-primer

I've been reading the forum for a while and just signed up

Is there anything else you can do other waiting for a bit and cycling the
slide?

Well the fear here is that it’s not a light-strike, but a hang fire. I personally have never had one, but the possibility still exists.

The only other thing you can to is listen, someone told me a hang fire sounds a lot like bacon cooking on the grill. Other then that no, keep it pointed down range, wait for 30 seconds (though I have been told a hang fire will go off in just a second or two), and then run the slide and inspect the round to see what happened

I have never had a hang fire on anything other than a muzzle loader... I have had a few lite primer strikes on centerfire ammo and plenty on cheapy rimfire ammo,

slap rack bang, It's good practice for when your gun chokes at the worst possible time
