Barrel swap POI change
Hey all,
I have a .357 sig XD service and picked up a new storm lake .40 barrel for it. The .40 shoots perfect at 21ft, however when I swap back to the .357 sig barrel it shoots approx .50-1.00 in left. Could it be the crown on the sig barrel, me or something else?

Shoot both barrels left handed and see if it still shows differences.

Are you shooting free hand or are you shooting off of sand bags. I would shoot it from a good set of sand bags and see what your groups look like then.

I think you are looking for a couple of fly turds in a pound of pepper. I mean that in a nice way! Can we assume you are putting all rounds in the same hole with both calibers but the holes between barrel swaps are 1/2-1" apart? Shooting a 3/4" group with either caliber with a striker fired gun is some fine shooting even if at 7 yards!! I would shoot a couple of hundred rounds through the new forty barrel and if the point of impact difference stays the same I would split the difference by moving the rear sight. 3/4-1" margin of error equals 3/8-1/2" left or right of the target. You are more man than me if your gun control is better than that but i have only been shooting for 40 years. GH
