Slide finish wearing off
I conceal carry my gun everyday.
I've noticed that the bluing on the slide is starting to wear off. Should it be doing this. It's only 3 months old. I bought it brand new.

Well, no, but at least the Melonite anti-rust treatment won't wear off, it's more than skin deep.
Post a pic if you can, contact SA, if there is something actually wrong they will fix it.

All guns will wear, I can eat through a finish in a weekend, if I am practicing for a match.

Pretty much this. Also, he (ajamesp51) can do a very nice refinish with Gunkote for $55.

What type of holster are you using? If it is Kydex, there is your answer.

It's called "character", and is desirable in a daily use carry piece. It shows this is a working gun and not a "safe queen". If your gun doesn't show holster wear, you aren't practicing drawing enough.
Don't worry about refinishing it or rust. Wipe it off every night with a LIGHTLY oily chamois then wipe dry with a clean chamois.

This!
my 45 is starting to show a little wear. I smiled a little when I noticed it. I bought my gun to use not sit in a safe.

I wipe with a silicone cloth every night and put it directly back in the holster. Crossbreed ST or mini tuck (all horse hide) or Tennessee Holster Co. leather IWB holster (Check these out! Larry [Houseboat on here] and his wife [Great people!] makes top notch leather, iwb, adjustable cant holsters). Keeps a nice coat of silicone on the weapon and isn't absorbed by either type holtser

I have a crossbreed holster half leather half kydex.
I'm probably not going to get it recoated just to have it wear off every 6 months.
