New XD 9mm - 300 rounds later

After putting 300 rounds in 3 weeks through the gun (1st handgun), i can say im getting a feel for the gun and liking it more and more. I have already polished the barrel per the threads on here and it has come out perfect. Once i am able to post pictures, i will. Im keeping groups of 16 pretty tight out to 40 yards

going to the camp this weekend and hope to put another 100-200 rounds through it

What did you use to plug the chamber and end of barrel (as to not remove the bluing)?

you can use earplugs but i did not use anything and no bluing was removed. i just took my time with a dremel and used a rag to wipe any excess before cleaning as usual

So you took the black finish off the barel ? Is that what you meann ?

Thats what i was wondering. My barrel feed ramp was black when i bought it. After putting about 1000 rounds through it and cleaning it the feed ramp polished itself. The rest of the barrel is mostly black .

+1. The feed ramp will polish itself after about 500 rounds or so. I'm at about 1200 rounds in my XD9 and it shoots better every time I take it out.
